California Academy of Sciences

Stian and I went to the California Academy of Sciences building in San Francisco today. They just opened the new building in September 2008 and raves to be possibly the greenest museum on the planet, so of course I was naturally intrigued to go there. It was a fun day and the museum was excellent, though it wasn't that big, there was lots to keep us occupied for the whole day and the displays were excellently done.

The green roof over the CAS building, skylights peeping through.

Inside there was a dome with a rainforest habitat in (along with birds and butterflies), surrounded by a coral reef tank that went down to the basement.

From the basement looking up into the Rainforest habitat through the freshwater pool.
