Teaser...

Back from Volcano National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii and all I can say is WOW! It's too late tonight to play with photos too much, but thought I would give you these two "tasters" from the trip - lava entering the ocean at Waikupanaha, from the Pu'u O'o crater of Kilauea volcano, more tomorrow -

Lava has been flowing from the Pu'u O'o (Hawaiian - High Point on the Sky) crater of Kilauea volcano since 1983. Kilauea is the most active volcano in the world, and one of two active volcanos within Volcano National Park. We went out on a boat trip early one morning to watch the lava flow into the ocean, it was awesome.

Molten lava at over 2000F flowing into 70F seawater. Streams of glowing lava peeked through the clouds of steam.
